Big props to Pete Brown, my former assistant coach at VUL. He recently arrived in Mexico to play for Tigres San Jeronimo. He is already making an impact on the team and gaining fans! It is a great feeling when you see hard work and perseverance pay off, and I’m excited to see how this next chapter in Pete’s career unfolds. Follow Pete and the Tigres season here. 

I am so proud of both of these guys, both captains of their team! Gravs finished the season as the team's second leading scorer and Zorney was the leading rebounder. Both earned great grades too. Congrats guys, the hard work paid off. 

My man! Congratulations to Chris Calvin, a 6'5" center, who recently scored his 1500th point. Chris played for me at VUL and is finishing his career at Barber Scotia College in Concord, NC. Now he's on his way to 2000!

Dennis Gravely, Captain of VUL Dragons mens basketball team 2013-14, first team All American and academic All American, has signed with Florida College in Tampa Florida to play for Jim Romkey. Dennis was our leading rebounder and second leading scorer at VUL.

Dennis will reunite with his former teammate Jan Zornjan in Florida. We are very excited for him to earn a strong degree at a top southern school.

A few happy notes about some of our extended family...
Linas Janenas, our point guard at Virginia University of Lynchburg during the 2013-21014 season, is off to Lithuania to visit his family for the summer but he received some great news before leaving! Linas will be attending Columbia International University in the fall. We are so proud of Linas and excited about the three years of basketball he has ahead of him - not to mention receiving a great education. Linas will get to play for Kyle Mendenhall, one of the great young coaches in the US, and close enough that we can see him play. Keep up with his season at www.ciuathletics.com

 Also from VUL's 2013-2014 team, Jan Yorke Zornjan, a 6'-6" forward from Serbia, has signed to play with Jim Romkey at Florida College near Tampa. We had a great visit and Jan is very excited about his opportunity! Jan has returned to Serbia for summer vacation and to gear up for next season. Coach Romkey will look to Jan for leadership and minutes! www.wearefc.com 

A big CONGRATS to Deividas Dulkys and his beautiful wife on a great basketball season in Turkey and the announcement that next year he will be playing in Italy (add name of team), in our favorite City of Venezio. (add website of team)

We are very excited for Irv Cato, our 6'-5" VUL Dragon who graduated this spring. Irv will be attending the combine of prospective pro players in Staten Island. He will play for three days in front of coaches and management from all over and try to fulfill his dream of playing at the next level. He has worked at his craft very hard this summer and we hope this will payoff. GOOD LUCK IRV!
